I quite like chips with curry sauce, but not with the curry actually poured onto the chips - it's best left in the polystyrene container and the chips dipped in. Hardly a gastronomic delight though - more a plebian pleasure! I can't remember the last time I had it though........ chip shop chips give me indigestion these days - the joys of middle age!

William. your mention of abominations brings to mind an offering which I saw in a Leyland chippy several years ago of, 'deep fried battered mars bars'!

Any local into fish and chips try the new one at Leyland Cross just off the Tesco car park near the vets.
Lovely dry non greasy chips, can't say spotless shop because there must be a spot somewhere , but the cleanest looking chippy I have come across and extra large fish if you are like Martin and want one that is to his taste, at an extra large price too! (£4.30 I think)

Agree the new chippy is good, First class shop and great Food think i paid £3.99

I've just had a very nice "great white shark", chips & peas in Morrissons. That was a big lump of fish... :-)

Morrisons do decent cafe food, much better than the other 2 big Supermarkets in the Leyland area.
Their breakfasts are excellent if somewhat fattening.

I'm told that at Rick Stein's fish restaurant in Padstow, Cornwall, you can expect to pay £14.50 for fish and chips. Won't be trying them myself!

You don't need to go all the way to Padstow to pay that.
The Red Cat at Wheelton will do it for nearly as much.
To be fair,my missus was told the grub's exceptionaly good there.

Browns in Chorley is the best chippy about. and it's always open well nearly always LOL
