HISTORY will be blown sky-high during an exhibition to be staged in Leyland.
A special display celebrating the history of aircraft making is set to be unveiled at South Ribble Museum and Exhibition centre, on Church Road.
The event will run from August 7 until August 30 in partnership with BAE Systems Aircraft Heritage Group.
Exhibits will draw from the vast photograph archives of the Heritage Group and will explore the story of aircraft manufacture in and around the local area.
The exhibits will include pictures illustrating the construction of around 2,145 Halifax Bombers, which were built by English Electric, in Preston from 1943, before being sent off to Samlesbury for assembly.
