It was empty for a while but had a preservation order on it as it was quite a fine Georgian house.However,Leyland folk woke up one morning to find that the bulldozers had been brought in the early hours while there was nobody about to protest, and razed it to the ground...Yes, Leyland Palace was a bit of a dump- I saw Rock Around The Clock there when I was about twelve, I was impressed and a bit frightened when Teds got up and started bopping in the aisles.
