From the Cross on to Preston, William, the 109 and 111 routes were the same. I think the pub at the top of Pear Tree brow, just north of new Hall Lane, was the Pear Tree and the Sumpter Horse was the one just south of where the road kinked to go over the railway tracks. it had a very large car park, as I remember.
With no personal wheels and a Methodist upbginging, I wasn't a big "pubber" before we left Leyland.
