I've been asked what Leylands Big Weekend is.
Is there such a thing?

Caroline, I can visualise you mud wrestling at Glastenbury. Then again - I could be wrong.[

Now then,Jim, steady on!!!! I went in '87 and there was a little mud, but I delicately tiptoed through in my wellies.... not very exciting I know-sorry to disappoint you!
Re the Preston thing, my 'son-in-law' (if they were married) went. And a couple of weeks ago I went to see a Manchester punk band in Rennes.. the French being well known for their politeness, one tatooed skinhead held open the door for me, saying 'After you, madame'!

Wonder if Leyland "Big Weekend" is actually what we used to call September Long Weekend, when Leyland Motors, L&B, BTR et al closed on the first Monday in September instead of having August Bank Holiday.

You went to Glasto, Caroline? I am jealous. When I was child-free, I couldn't afford to go and since then I've had kids to think of - by the timehte younger was old enough to consider taking, the elder had important exams.... sigh! Maybe one day, though I think I may be too old for those God-awful toilets now!

I passed the Council offices today and a hugh banner does indeed proclaim, `Leyland Big Weekend`. I passed too quickly to read anything else. I was also at the same time trying to read what was on the new sandwich board that out resident protester was wearing. (I must try to go past on foot sometime).
