They now have 949 names on their list. Some big money businesses have invested in Leyland in recent years so funding shouldn't be an issue to getting the festival going again.

I've just added this to the facebook site
When the Leyland Festival folded after the 2000 event, I was running the Craft Tent, the biggest tent on the park, which included the crafts as well as the Leyland Historical Society, the Leyland & Chorley Family History Society, Leyland Photographic Society , Farington Art Group and the Leyland Model Railway Society.
This has continued on the first Saturday in June ever since at the Leyland Methodist Church Hall on Turpin Green, where the Leyland Morris Men and Lostock Hall Brass Band perform ouside during the day, admission being free.
So if you want to show the local businesses and the Council what 1000 people want, why not all show up this year and support us.
As I put on the 200 posters that go up around town (well at least the shops that are aloud to display them - Tescos ain't) Missing Leyland Festival, Come Along

Peter, You can`t be plainer than that. If people want it - then they should support it! I shall certainly be voting with my feet this year.

Peter how about placing ads in surrounding areas like Chorley for those of us who don't go into Leyland very often. Sadly I am already booked to enter the Holker garden festival that weekend otherwise I would have loved to go.
