Street Lights
#1
Is it just me or are there constantly parts of Leyland with no streetlights?

At the moment the roundabout on the bypass by Moss Side Ind Est seems to be cast in darkness. Was Dunkirk Lane before xmas and I'm sure the lights were out by the tip not so long back.

I may be daft but.......... If streetlamps need to be replaced, doesn't it make more sense to do it in the lighter months rather than when its always dark when most people are travelling about???

**Rant over**

We have a tall sodium one that`s `growing` out of our front hedge. It developed a rather annoying fault a few days ago by illuminating, then going out after 10 minutes or so and then repeating this cycle all night. It`s rather like living next to a slow sequence zebra crossing.
A phone call to SRBC will see action within a day or two. (at least that`s what`s happened in the past).

This area seems to be constantly in darkness - you're right. But if you ask me, so should they all be! (In darkness, that is!)

I hate streetlights - too many for my liking.

I must agree, some of the lights aren't needed. Especially the one across from my house which has just been repaired, Now I sleep with the light on!! Thicker curtains are needed I think.

If you complain to the council about that street light, you can get it removed - check out the CfDS website - I think there is some rule about lighting being appropriate and not keeping anyone awake at night. Trouble is that the one that's next to my house has been there long before I moved in, hence there is no requirement to move it (since I bought the house while the street light was there...) A rubbish argument, but it somehow sticks...

I have only been noticing it because it was off for a few months.
The curtains we have up are rubbish, they were in when we moved so are due replacing.

I telephoned SRBC about the faulty street light and they told me that it was no longer their responibility, giving me a number for Lancs CC. I duly reported it to LCC and it was repaired within the week!!! How`s that for service?
