Parking at Seven Stars (Take Care)
#1
If you know Seven Stars Leyland and the two pubs on each corner of the junction.
Just a warning to pass on to your friends and famliy. Don't park on the pub carpark as they are out to book you.
There are very small signs up, I have seen and know people who been booked for just nipping across the road to the chippy. I know the carpark is for the people using the pub. I don't think people are doing any harm just parking for a very short time.
The Trap
A chap will sit in his car and wait till people park and nip across the road,he then get out of his car and put's his jacket on and gives you a ticket !!! No warning £60 Pounds !!!
If the staff in the chippy see people comming across the road they will warn them to move the car.

Pass on to your friends and famliy

You would sooner give it away

This practice is becoming more and more frequent these days. Doesn't the pub realise if they get people's backs up that way, people are less likely to return as customers?

Just what I thought, Linda- they'll be just another Pub Closure statistic. And how much are they paying the geezer to do this?
Why not put up a sign, like " If, for whatever reason you have to park here, why not come in and have a friendly drink in exchange? Your genial hosts, Bob and Beryl" Or whoever!

This does not surprise me at all, the greed of pubs and publicans is has no boundaries, and has often got my back up, often being short changed when there is a crowd and they judge you are not sober. One Leyland publican was notorious for this. At least the chippy has some morals and public ethics, why not enjoy a drink from the off licence with your next chippy meal just to help send another greedy pub to the wall.

A must read in cases such as this.

My opinion is make the b*stards chase you for the money. To get anything they will eventually have to take you to court. If it is a free carpark they have no loss of revenue to claim and have to provide proof that a contract was entered into. With the small signs they are in no way able to prove they explicitly gave notice of the charges.

Also if challenged by the carpark jackboot - ask them about Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970.
