Fire crews from Leyland, Bamber Bridge, Chorley, Penwortham, Fulwood and Tarleton attended the scene at 1.07am on Sunday, and battled with the raging fire for more than four hours. Nearby residents were told to stay indoors with their windows and doors closed, as there were fears that propane tanks on the site could explode.
