Is that the one just on the Turpin Green side of the bend, opposite the small row of shops where the newsagent is/was?

Not all pubs are suffering, those serving good food or drumming up business, The Railway, Gables, Lion, The Anchor just round the corner from me that has quiz nights, beer festivals etc they're all doing OK. I passed The Rose and Crown in Farington yesterday, its name has been changed to The Rose of Farington.

It's becoming that they have to do something else though now to survive isn't it. The pubs only serving alcohol are on the endangered list.

Controversial plans to transform a Leyland pub into apartments for people with mental health problems looks set to get the go-ahead.
South Ribble Council planning officers have recommended the proposals by Grasmere Homes to convert the Waggon and Horses on Bent Lane be granted permission. A decision is due to be made at a planning meeting next week, but residents have spoken out about the plans. The council has received 14 letters of objection to the scheme, with people worried that the ‘low profile mental health problems’ could be an “underhand way to house drug addicts or alcoholics into a quiet residential area.” Leyland Guardian
