Tesco teams up with BT to make its WiFi faster
#1
The supermarket giant is switching its focus to better connecting its customers. Today, Tesco switched live free superfast BT WiFi inside 806 of its stores, replacing the old service powered by O2 and ramping up speeds to 76Mb in available areas.

You can get more than WiFi at our Tesco store in Wigan. If you have seen their advert for Christmas it was made for Wigan in store and on the carpark at Wigan. On Saturday the 1st of November the store closed early and the carpark became a film set with invited guests. It came about because of a tweet from a girl asking why Wigan store had never had a green crown on the Tesco roof lettering. The advert is an edited version the full film is on You Tube under Tesco advert for Wigan.

Wi-Fi in part of Washington State, around the Seattle area provided by Century Link, is now being advertised as "1 GB". They don't specify in which direction you get that speed.

Since Century Link doesn't come as far north as us, I watch with interest to see what the competition does. Incidentally, the stadium where the Seattle Seahawks NFL team play is "Century Link Stadium".
