I live close to the Railway Station, and often walk my dog along around Centurion Way, Carr Lane etc, and there is regularly a foul smell in the air.
This morning I was walking my dog along the footpath that runs parallel to the railway line, cutting through from Carr Lane to Centurion Way, and it prompted me to investigate the delightful smell in the air, or not!
I spoke to another chap who I often see out, and he describes it as smelling "like a dead rat".
It really isn't nice, and often if the wind is blowing in the right direction, I can smell it outside my house. I've lived in this part of Leyland for 1.5 years, and I’ve noticed the smell in the air, seemingly randomly, ever since I've moved here - so it's not a new issue.
Has anybody else noticed this around this area? I wondered if it was the recycling center, but it's half a mile away from the footpath I mention above, and 3/4 of a mile from my house - can smell travel that far?
