Eating in Leyland
#1
One thing that amazes me in Leyland now is the number of different types of take-aways there are. Back in the sixties it was "Fish and Chips" English style of course not the fish with half a ton of soggy batter that the chinese take-aways serve up. We had one Chinese take-away. Now there are Indian, Turkey, Italian, McDonalds. Lostock Hall must have the most intense area of different cuisines in the most incredibly small area. As you leave the car park to enter the shopping area, there is a Kebab house on the right with an Indian take-away 2 doors closer. On the immediate left is a pizza/Italian take-away with a good old fashioned English Bakery next to it.
Immediately facing is a Chinese take-away while walking a little further 30 yards maybe , is the KFC. About 50 yards back heading towards Leyland are 2 chippies. No wonder we are all fat gits in Lostock Hall.

The significant owl hoots in the night.

Keep finding little hidden topics.I saw the big change in Lostock Hall Noel last time I came and the line -up of eateries.I thought I was back in Henderson which is a suburb of Auckland.
When I walk down to the shops there are all the kinds of food you mention packed into a small area.Indian Turkish Thai Cantonese chinese and Chinese chinese Korean Japanese. You name it they are there not to mention that all the old fashioned bakeries are now managed by Vietnamese and the products are identical: same cakes same sausage rolls same pies.I did enjoy the butter pie though-still tasted every bit as yummy.
