The public hall was finally demolished about 1990 and replaced by a load of bollards.

Dead Right Phil - When I look at the planning aspects of the roads in Leyland it beggars belief. There seems to have been a series of unconnected decisions made to address distinct problems, but no-one seems to have looked at the whole picture. Cottage industry decisions that cause problems outside the area of consideration. The wierd junctions around Berrys sawmill and opposite the (former) George IV pub are downright dangerous.

tesco is rubbish - its hurting the town
the regeneration stuff is good - slow coming but it is happening - the council is on track now - lets hope they keep the momentum up before leyland shuts down
