Name

Markham, Ontario, Canada
Message
I wondered if anyone could help me in locating the church in which my grandmother, Addis Berry is buried. My uncle, who lived in Bolton, recently passed away and my brother and I (only surviving relatives) would like to bury his ashes next to his mother (Addis Berry) and father (Ernest Berry). Unfortunately, I am unable to locate any burial information on them.

My grandparents lived in a house called THE ELMS, but I have no other address. I believe they were Church of England.

Any information that could be provided would be most appreciated or another source of information suggested.

Thank you,
Jill Briers (nee Paulin)

Hi Jill, that,s an unusual name, Addis, are you sure, I can,t find her in any records. The nearest I can come up with is Ernest Berry married Addie Banister at Leyland St. Andrews in 1916. As muffers said any dates, ages, places will help a lot. For example your uncle, how old was he when he died? Where was he and your dad born?
There is a house called The Elms on church road St Andrews parish. It,s a possibility.

What an interesting name -Addis-my first thought was short for Adeline or Addie again a shortening.I did have an Aunt Adeline called Addie.
Often these unusual names are really significant in a family.Good luck with the search.I gave family history up a few years ago but it sure is addictive -in a nice way!
